My All time cricket dream XI by picking only one player from each country.(Latest Post)
By Koduri Anurag - June 11, 2021
Countries Participating: India, Australia, England, South Africa, New Zealand, Pakistan, West Indies, Srilanka, Bangladesh, Zimbabwe, Afghanistan, Ireland and Netherlands.
1) Virender Sehwag (VC)
From India, I have chosen Viru. I want a batsman like him to face the first ball with lots of courage and start attacking from the first ball itself. He is always Hungry for runs and fearsome to the bowlers. Best of the best openers of all time. My all time favorite batsman in the history of world cricket.
2) Chris Gayle
Next I have the Universal Boss from West Indies. Another good attacking opener who destroys the bowler's courage and starts playing with their name & fame. This great destructive batsman is my second opener along with Viru. I also believe that this partnership of a right and left-hand batsman with great chemistry is also a big advantage to the team.
3) Stephen Fleming (C)
Fleming, One of the Legendary Captains from New Zealand, is my next pick. A great Batsman with amazing captain abilities. He was always my idol since childhood. When someone talks about great captains, he always strikes in my mind first. That New Zealand era was always my best with Fleming, Taylor, Astle, Styris, Vettori, Shane Bond playing in one team.
4) Andy Flower (WK)
From Zimbabwe, I pick Andy for my team. One of the finest and greatest wicketkeeper batsmen after Gilchrist. To be frank, Gilchrist has got many opportunities to prove and his resources were more than the whole Zimbabwe team has. Andy was completely underrated, and I still remember his heroic performances against India. A great Australian cricketer once told about Andy that "He is a diamond born among steel", referring to his mates. He is the all-time best batsman of spin in the history of world cricket. Cheers, man, you are a true legend of world cricket and I am really happy that now he is a supportive coach of Punjab Kings in IPL.
5) Mahela Jayawardene
This Srilankan Legend is not my favorite but yes I need him as a good backup for the team. His work in my team is simple just to stay in the crease and play steadily when the team needs him. Simple but effective.
6) Jacques Kallis
A perfect all-rounder from South Africa. No need of Sachin or Lara when I have Kallis in my team. Another amazing player with an amazing record and average. Great with the bat and greatest with the ball.
7) Kevin O'Brien
Ireland genius who is holding the fastest century in 50 over the world cup is my next player. If he plays another destructive inning then the opponent is gone for sure.
8) Rashid Khan
Afghan Spinner Rashid is well known for his variations. He is quick, fast, and delivery with great accuracy. Batsman barely will have time to respond. Even Stumps starts flying when he comes to bowl.
9) Shane Warne
From Australia, I have Shane Warne. Okay, it was tough for me to choose between McGrath and warne. I went for warne only because my team is a bit lacks spin. I have less trust on Rashid who is not that much experienced. And just imagine how much it is going to be effective of spin by this duo. Stumps not only fly they will also dance when warne bowls.
10) Wasim Akram
Great Bowler from Pakistan is the greatest of Late swing, Reverse swing, and those deadly bouncers which were really deadly and a big nightmare to the batsmen. Hurting the heads and crushing the toes was his main moto.
11) James Anderson
This King of pace is from England. Pride of England cricket team and when it comes to swing bowling, no one can beat this man especially in his home country in any age. I really love him a lot. If I get a chance to propose him definitely I will.(Sorry, McGrath)
